Hypertension is the leading preventable cause of death and disability around the world, and can lead to heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, and dementia. Over 7.5 million Canadians have hypertension, and 7.4 million more have high blood pressure that will lead to hypertension without preventative action.
Hypertension Canada would like to send a huge thank you to all of our supporters for helping us reach and encourage over 4 million people to get their blood pressure screened. A special thank you to our sponsors, BIOS, Boehringer Ingelheim, Servier, Dairy Farmers of Canada, and Loblaws. Want to see more? Click here to view photos of our events.
Hypertension Canada annually promotes World Hypertension Day (May 17) in partnership with the World Hypertension League and the international Society of Hypertension.
